Watch: The Dead Amigos – ‘Hold Out’

Formed at the start of 2016, The Dead Amigos quickly rose through the ranks of Australian rock to establish themselves as one of Melbourne’s most exciting and promising new acts. With a unique blend of blues, rock and funk, the four-piece of Max Shepherd, Sean Ahrbeck, Lachlan Beattie-Powell, and Will Dunn have forged their sound in fire, bringing to the fore a guitar smashing, roof climbing, trumpet pumping, rocking mariachi band from hell.

Almost unrelenting in their trajectory so far, the band have recently unleashed their latest single onto the world, conjuring up a hard-hitting, Aussie rock sound that echoes with the legendary St. Kilda scene. Titled ‘Hold Out’, the new single was produced by rock legend Tyson Fish, who has previously lent his talents to The Living End, Dropkick Murphys, and Bad//Dreems.

Encapsulating the struggles faced by up and coming bands in a scene that has been dominated by noise restrictions and lock-out laws, ‘Hold Out’ is a bristling call to arms that The Dead Amigos hope will give a voice to those struggling to be heard.

Lead singer, Max, described the song best, saying, “in an age where guitar music is being told to turn down, ‘Hold Out’ is the anthem of raising a middle finger to the establishment. It’s a song that ignites a fire in listeners trying to find their own voice. A song with a message to keep doing what you love, to just keep holding out.”

Accompanied by its official music video that you can watch above, ‘Hold Out‘ has grown to become a landmark single of the year, bringing ferocity, passion, and classic songwriting back to the streets of Melbourne. You can stream the single above, as well as on Spotify, and get a glimpse of what to expect from the band’s new album, due for release early 2020.
