Review: Jerry Hull - 'Supercharged Chassis (Single)'

Since we began a few years ago, Jerry Hull has easily become one of the most prolifically featured artists on our website. It’s gotten to the point where you start to wonder, what more is there to say?

A relentless creative force, Jerry has made a name for himself as one of the most engaged and hard working musicians around, taking on a maelstrom of roles (like singer, songwriter, pianist and arranger, to name just a few) and painting the world’s soundscape with his own unique palette.

After a life spent Iiving in and gigging around Memphis’ famous Beale Street, spreading his take on the classic Memphis sound around nightclubs and music spots, piano bands and wedding parties, he moved on to Santa Monica, Hollywood, and LA, taking them by sheer force of will. Now, of all places, he’s set up shop in East Yorkshire, UK, where he’s been happily continuing his work since 2002.

After a torrent of tracks and albums, Jerry has arrived at his latest hit, the revved up, super-powered cut of ‘Supercharged Chassis’. It’s a song that sets the tone for his upcoming sixth album, and one that truly lives up to its name. It’s another diverse taste of the many styles that Jerry’s sound encompasses, and it’ll definitely have your eyes and ears switched on for when that album drops.

Score: 8/10
