Review: FluxDaddy – ‘I Need You Here’

It’s been a while since we last heard from Christopher Wilkinson, the creative force behind the FluxDaddy. A Christian, future bass artist born in St. Augustine and raised in North Carolina, FluxDaddy has long since been in love with music and the power that it holds. Armed with an arsenal of visceral electronic melodies, his songs are steeped in abstract messages, creating a unique sound that has been delighting audiences for years.

His latest release, ‘I Need You Here’ is a beautifully polished piece of future bass invention, creating a lavish cinematic sound that is seamlessly constructed from a mix of hard basslines and detuned synthesizers. Far from a synthetic or heartless piece, ‘I Need You Here’ creates a distinct emotive sound through a layered tapestry of sonic vocals and evolving bass sounds, capturing the moments of doubt that we all feel.

In all his work, FluxDaddy has showcased his growth and creative evolution, tapping into the important moments of his past to add more depth to his work, and ‘I Need You Here’ is no exception. A deft blend of sounds that creates a vibrant and lingering atmosphere, it’s another powerful illustration of his talents.

Available to stream now on YouTube, Soundcloud, and Spotify, ‘I Need You Here’ is a welcome return to the spotlight that promises nothing but big things.

Score: 8/10
